Pearson TQ is a provider of training services to the UK Ministry of Defence, other public sector organisations and private companies, both in the UK and overseas. Pearson TQ won the contract to deliver apprenticeship training to the Corps of Royal Engineers in September 2011. These accredited training programmes include Engineering, ICT, Fabrication and Construction. Due to the success of this contract, we are now recruiting for an Assessor in Heating and Plumbing to assist in delivering Apprenticeships to soldiers posted to the Field Army. This position will be based at Longmoor Training Camp, Hampshire.
Assessor in Heating and Plumbing
Based in Longmoor Training Camp, Hampshire
Permanent & full-time working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

As Assessor, your role will be responsible for observing and supporting Field Army soldiers in completing their Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship in Heating and Plumbing. Your role will include completing observations, assessments and writing reviews on their performance. You will monitor soldiers as they un-install and re-install (strip-out & re-fit) full Heating & Plumbing facilities and systems within a test / construction environment.
Quality is key, therefore you will uphold the standards of the Army Apprenticeship, and complete assessments of vocational portfolio / trade diary to internal and Awarding Body standards.
You will liaise with Field Army Units and report to the Coordinator, providing updates and feedback on the progress of soldiers throughout their Apprenticeship programme. You will update our computer / data systems accordingly, such as Maytas and e-portfolios.
Our Successful Candidate
We are interested in applicants with significant experience in Heating and Plumbing and happy to work in Hampshire (Longmoor Training Camp). It would be an advantage to have an Assessor qualification and knowledge of Apprenticeship frameworks or experience of delivering Apprenticeship framework at Level 2 (Intermediate Apprenticeship in Heating and Plumbing).
